Gabi’s mother, Tracey, had contacted me about photographing Gabi’s proposal. Carter, Gabi’s boyfriend was planning to propose at the Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. Tracey put the two of us in contact and we started planning.
Steve, Grace and I arrived a little after 8:00am to meet their families and discuss our game plan. Gabi had no idea their families had flown down the day before from Pennsylvania. We planned for them to stay at the ice cream shop on Main Street and blend in with the crowd. Carter told Gabi he had hired us to take photos for their 5th anniversary. So, we did a quick session leading up to the Castle…
Once in front of the Castle, we had to try to keep Gabi’s focus so their families could get into place. This was not an easy task. 🙂
We needed Gabi to face the Castle, away from Main Street, so Carter could get on a knee and their families could move in behind them. Gabi was a good sport and played along with Steve’s directions. I then told her to close her eyes and when I counted to three, turn around and open her eyes. I got to one and she turned around!
Their families had matching shirts with different sayings on them – “My son asked in front of Cinderella Castle May 27, 2017” or “My daughter said yes in front of Cinderella Castle May 27, 2017”, etc…
This group of girls were amazing! I was waiting for her family to show up and couldn’t find them. I saw this group of girls taking pictures and was getting a bit irritated, because they were in the way. What I did not realize is that they were creating a “wall” for Gabi and Carter’s families to hid behind! So, of course, we had to get a picture!
If you are interested, our daughter, Grace, was broadcasting live during the session and proposal. You can see it HERE. I apologize for being subjected to our bums in part of the video. We asked Grace to act like she was texting, or on Facebook (which she was!), etc. We are photographers, not videographers! Also, this was the first time Grace helped us with a proposal. She was so excited and nervous!
Once it had sunk in that Carter had proposed and Gabi realized she was truly engaged, we went around the park to take some more pictures. Now, with a gorgeous new accessory!
Yes, they Disneybounded as Cinderella and Prince Charming! How perfect was that?!
Her ring is by Vera Wang. Absolutely GORGEOUS!
A visit with the Fairy Godmother? Ummmm…YES!
Of course we tried to get Gabi into “her” Castle. Unfortunately, it was locked.
After this picture was taken, Carter noticed my purse and the fact it had Penn State on it. As it turns out, they are all HUGE Penn State fans. So much so, Carter is named after KiJana Carter! Gabi is a Penn State grad! It was all meant to be that we met!
The two of you are absolutely perfect together!
Tracey brought matching shirts for Gabi and Carter, too. Gabi said she had not brought shorts and Carter’s shirt wouldn’t look right with his shorts. No worries! Mom to the rescue! Tracey had packed shorts for both of them, too!
Asked and answered!
As we were finishing up, Steve wanted to take a few last photos on Main Street. I seriously LOVE Disney Cast Members!!!
One final picture with the balloons! ❤
Tracey – thank you, again, for contacting me and asking us to be a part of this day! We are so honored to have captured this moment for Gabi & Carter and allowed to be there for such a special moment.
Gabi & Carter – CONGRATULATIONS, again! The two of you are absolutely perfect for each other. Your happiness is infectious! Steve, Grace and i had a great time spending the day with you and your families. We wish you many long years of happiness! Enjoy every bit of wedding planning!
