While scrolling through Facebook one night, a post on the Disney Alumni board caught my attention. Someone was asking if anyone could capture a proposal. I responded and said we would love to. We messaged back and forth and she sent our information to her friend, Ronny. This was on December 21st. Ronny called me that evening and he said they were coming down from New Jersey. He was planning to propose to his girlfriend in the Magic Kingdom on January 11th. That was perfect, because we had already planned to be there to celebrate Grace’s birthday. He was so excited and nervous! He had it all planned.
For a few weeks, we messaged a couple of times to make sure everything was set. The day came and we arrived in time to watch the 3:00 parade. Ronny texted pictures of them leaving their resort so we would know what they were wearing. Once we arrived and had our spot picked for the parade, I let him know we were there, standing across from the Bakery. He was in the Bakery getting some coffee when he got the text. He came out and waved to us. 🙂 They spent their day having a good time in the park. We did the same. The plan was for him to propose behind the Castle next to the Carousel during Wishes. The Carousel has meaning to Sommer and she loves Wishes. Who doesn’t? 😉
About an hour before, I get a frantic text and a phone call. Sommer wanted to watch the fireworks from Main Street, in FRONT of the Castle! Okay. No problem. Except Grace was in seeing the Princesses. We had to find her then quickly made our way to the front. As we were walking, Ronny and Sommer passed us. We followed them to where they wanted to stand. Sommer didn’t know us, so it was perfect. We stood behind them and Sommer started a conversation. We chatted and waited for the fireworks. I am pretty sure that was the longest the fireworks have ever been. Waiting for the proposal was nerve-wracking. I’m sure it was even worse for Ronny. 🙂
The proposal came. She said YES! Everyone cheered for them. It all happened so fast once it did happen. Afterward, we chatted and we offered an engagement session for them. We did the session the next day. We had such a great time. I cannot say enough how amazing these two are. They are very low-key, down to Earth, genuine people. We are so honored to have been able to capture some memories for them.
How gorgeous are they??? I mean, seriously?!?!
As we were walking around, we found this game. Time for a little friendly competition! (Note – I’m pretty sure the end score was tied.)
I absolutely LOVE Steve’s view here! AH-MAZING!!!
Again – Steve’s view wins!
So cute! And so perfect for each other!
These shirts are way too cute! Sommer’s aunt had them made and sent with her parents for them to wear after Ronny proposed. 🙂
That ring?!?!?! Sommer’s favorite Princess is Cinderella. They don’t make the Cinderella ring anymore. Ronny had this one specially designed in the spirit of the Cinderella ring. And he added his own touch – two hidden Mickey’s!
Sommer & Ronny – thank you, again, for allowing Steve and me to capture both the proposal and your engagement session. I know you weren’t prepared to have a session done so soon, but you were both amazing to work with! We wish you much love, joy and happiness in the years to come.
